Some of us have been saying that what we call literary journalism is good because it owns up to what it does not know, as well as what it knows. We are more likely to trust the writer if she or he allows us to understand that not everything is certain. The important thing is not perfection, or a claim to ‘truth’, but to be working in good faith, and to let the reader in on the process.
That’s all very good, but perhaps a little worthy and boring. So this inventive set of labels from UK comedian Tom Scott is a much more fun way of questioning what you are reading (and warning others). The picture shows just one of half a dozen choices.
